A delegation from Foxconn, the Taiwan-based contract manufacturer, held discussions with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, seeking support for its manufacturing center in Kongara Kalan. The Chief Minister assured the delegation of the state government's backing for the operations of Foxconn's facility and pledged support for upcoming projects undertaken by the company.

Foxconn Technology Group had previously committed to investing $550 million in Telangana, as part of an agreement with the state government made in March of the same year. The agreement aimed to generate one lakh (100,000) jobs by establishing an electronics manufacturing unit. The initial phase of the project is expected to create 25,000 jobs within the next two years.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the manufacturing facility, dedicated to producing Apple AirPods, took place in May. The proposed electronics manufacturing facility in Kongara Kalan is considered a significant milestone in Foxconn's global expansion strategy, diversifying its manufacturing base worldwide.

The facility will function as a hub for Foxconn Interconnect Technology's operations in Telangana, facilitating the expansion of the company's production capacity. Earlier in the year, Foxconn Technology Group Chairman Young Liu and his team had met with then Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to discuss the project.
